Katheyondu Shuruvagide (2018)Kannada Movie Reviews
What more can the audience get from a debutant Kannada director?
No, you are going to have surprises when you see the movie Katheyondu Shuruvagide (2018). The director Senna Hegde appeared well through his direction in his first filming in 0-41* (Malayalam). This first Kannada film has also blasted the Kannada movie industry. Throughout the whole film, you will remain stuck to reveal what more coming up next.
Emotional thoughts with humor, trust and relationship, etc. are well presented in Katheyondu Shuruvagide. The story begins with the man, Tarun. He is the owner of a picturesque resort. However, he is getting losses from his business. Nothing comes to bring him solution. That time, another major character Tanya appears in the frame. She starts sharing her time with Tarun, and both become good friends. Now, Tarun and Tanya are planning to sort or face out the problems.
The age-old formulas are present in the story. In fact, in some points, you will feel this film has nothing new than other traditional dramas. However, I promise you, and you won’t feel boring not for a single moment. The turning points, small joys, etc. will blow up your mind. In fact, Senna has proven his skills to picture letters into visual arts.
However, the simple but profound story of this film includes the two broken souls. They were in the sea of sufferings. However, their friendship has worked as the anchor to pull up them from the sea. If you are an emotional person, you will surely feel engaged in the film. The climax through moving graph has mesmerized everyone who saw and is going to see the movie.
Thinking without the protagonists, there are more two different love stories in Katheyondu Shuruvagide. One of the stories is about the physically aged but young at hearts of Murthy and his better-half Radha. And another one is about the minor but exemplary characters, the driver Pedro and the receptionist Swarna. So, you are not going to say, “Drama films are boring.”
You will feel you are watching the soulful narratives of the producers such as Woody Allen, Richard Linklater, etc. If you are obsessed in watching full-time action movies, you will find this film bit different. Of course, films are produced to earn money. However, this one is good at story and the presentation of the characters. Your money worth the two and half an hour at the theater. Diganth’s performance at the climax scene is a matter to discuss.
Each actor remains steadfast in their parts. The delivery of the dialogue in conversational style looks pretty real and kind of philosophy. You will admire the cinematography as the scenario used in the film are appealing to the eyes. Some songs touch the heart. Even the actor Diganth can seem he has given his best of his life in the Kannada industry. Pooja Devariya, Ashwin Rao Pallakki, Shreya Anchan, Babu Hirannaiah, and Aruna Balaraj – all of them have proved them as good actors.
Abhijit Mahesh has the perfect hand of writing, and he has shown that is this movie. We can’t ignore the works of him. Without his pattern of dialogue, this movie could have gone under-rated. Sachin Warrier puts strength to create beautiful melodies, in both language, Kannada, and English. Kapu, Padubidri are the right places to shoot in-camera. Sreeraj Raveendran beautifully presented the notable things of these places with his cinematography.
After all, if you wish to watch a movie to know different shades of life, go and enjoy this film without any hesitation. Most of the critics have given a good rating on this film. You probably would do the same thing. Have fun!!!
