Comali, a recent movie by the new debutant director Pradeep Ranganathan has become a trending topic in the Tamil movie industry. Earlier, it was a rumor whether it’s going to be good work or not. But after the release in 15 August 2019, critics have shown interest in rate this film. After all, it’s a movie where the versatile hero Jayam Ravi and beauty queen Kajal Agarwal proved that their demand is still high to the fans. The trailer of Comali was full of fun, and people were busy getting entertainment from it. At the same time, some of Rajnikanth’s fans got furious as it has something related to his entrance into politics.

Before Comali’s release, there was an issue that had brought a headache to the original script ownership and distributors in the Trichy area. Everything got solved when the production company Vels Films International has brought the film to the screen with the help of the distributor Sakthi Film Factory. This film had the working title of JR24 during production.

The movie brings with starring Jayam Ravi (Ravi in-film) who was in Coma for 16 years. These 16 years were lost from his life, and he has no concern about it. When he gets his consciousness, he has to figure out his identity. His memories, present-day calculations, survival, meeting the other characters; everything was puzzling his lifestyle. Here the audience can witness how the social problems increase and how the people are facing them. This film has picturized the uses of technologies for having modern lives.

Different nostalgic events and some craziness start building further story towards the end. If you are a 90s kid and have watched the “96” movie, literally you might have tears in the eyes. Comali has kind of 90s memories. But you are not going to cry. Instead full of laughter will mesmerize you. Later on, at a specific point, a couple of scenes are visible which are full of absurdity and uses of farces, so the story feels like over boarded. The comic views parted by Yogi Baby and Sha Ra are just matters to get happiness throughout the film.

The young schoolboy Ravi is also enjoyable. The kid has proved how his convincing acting can broaden our minds. The body language, acting skills, and toned look are the right combination to attract the eyes of the audience. Different motives or messages related to social issues are fantastically present in the rest of the story. The male protagonist runs after the treasure, but unfortunately, he fails to do so. KS Ravikumar catches his guilts. This adds some extra fun during the scene time.

A hero should perform as the all-rounder character if the director wants success via the creations. Jayam Ravi is the main focus of the Comali. From the beginning to the end, his influences are strongly found in other characters and events. He has taken the responsibilities of the movie story on his own note. His friend or co-actor Yogi Baby has also created a new dimension in the movie. RJ Ananthi is another good character in the plot. Her emote ability has shown magic! Samyuktha Hegde performs fantastically as the ex-lover of Ravi. Besides, Kajal Agarwal has again completed her acting as a present lover or the heroine successfully. Dr. Thyagesh or Sha Ra delivers dialog in a very bizarre way as his look was so. He is also a prominent part of the comedy.

Social media and technology are the blessing of modern science. If we use it correctly, then it will be a great asset to our everyday life. But when the excessive misuses of these rises, society can easily give birth to more problems. Comali continues providing the “message” about social consciousness which is the culture is at stake due to these misuses. You will be contained hearing these messages and feel to the inner side of the film. Melodrama in the last few minutes can be felt like the story is forcing you to stay a bit more time at the theatre. ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom’ or “Let us look at the middle page (in English) emphasizes how disability can change a life. Thus, it creates some humorous moments too.

If you have already spent money on watching it, you will find it beneficial enough. Comedy, love, action, masala, etc. and what more you want from a Tamil movie? Of course, Comali hasn’t failed to capture the attention and entertain the viewers.

As the movie gets the screen on the 15 August, it has got positive reviews. The intention of the movie producer was to run for a long time in the vacation of Independence Day. After all, you are recommended to enjoy the movie for the best use of your leisure time.
